Andrea Mandel-Campbell

Senior Vice-President

Andrea is Senior Vice-President, Financial and Crisis Communications, in NATIONAL’s Toronto office. She brings a breadth of experience, including as a consultant to senior executives, Vice-President of Communications for Kinross Gold, as an advisor to a federal cabinet minister, television anchor, and a correspondent for the Financial Times of London, as well as being the best-selling author of iconic Canadian business book, ‘Why Mexicans Don’t Drink Molson.’

Andrea’s unique mix of consulting, corporate, political and media experience in Canada and internationally, sets her apart as a trusted advisor in complex and high stakes situations. Working across a number of sectors, supporting large cap firms, private companies, trade associations and regulators, Andrea provides strategic counsel in the areas of reputation and crisis management, litigation, M&A, investor relations and activist situations, among others.

Prior to joining NATIONAL, Andrea was a Senior Vice-President at a New-York-based global CEO advisory firm and is a former anchor with CTV’s Business News Network. She currently sits on the board of the Canadian Club of Toronto.

Craig MacPhail


Craig has more than 30 years’ experience in corporate communications and investor relations. He has assisted companies of all sizes and in multiple sectors communicate to the capital markets, form strategies for special situations and build their investor brand. He has helped his clients manage ongoing investor relation programs, shareholder activism and M&A transactions. A significant part of his IR practicehas been working on initial public offerings and he has more than 100 transactions under his belt, including some of North America’s largest IPOs. He works with senior executives and their advisors to establish the positioning of the company and key marketing highlights, and ensures that every project runs smoothly to meet the critical deadlines that are part of every transaction. Prior to joining Equicom, Craig held senior positions at two IR consulting firms.

Heidi Christensen Brown

Director, Investor Relations

Heidi is a senior-level investor relations and corporate communications professional with more than a decade of IR experience within 20 years diverse experience focused mainly on Canada’s energy industry. She has helped both public and private companies develop their investor relations and communications strategies towards the goal of fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders, including shareholders and the broader investment community. Over the course of her career, Heidi has worked with TSX, TSX Venture, NYSE and inter-listed companies. She develops and manages year-round IR and communications programs, and also provides counsel and strategies for special projects like IPO’s, M&A, and issues and crisis communication. Her expertise includes day-to-day IR strategies and implementation, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and community and stakeholder relations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography and a Master of Business Administration, both from the University of Calgary.

Mark rejoined NATIONAL Public Relations as Vice-President Financial Communications and Investor Relations in May 2017. He has over 25 years of experience in financial and corporate communications with a track record of effective strategic counsel to CEOs, senior executive teams and Boards of Directors.

He previously served in senior communications roles with two of Canada largest pension investment managers: PSP Investments and La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. During his first term with NATIONAL, he led all communications activities for the Crawford Committee and the ABCP restructuring, the largest financial restructuring in Canada. During his career, he has been involved in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, IPOs and has helped raise capital for both public and private companies.

 Michael Goehring

Michael brings more than 18 years of experience and insight providing public affairs and strategic communications counsel to clients across various industries and practice areas, including energy, mining, forestry, trade, technology and corporate sustainability. His expertise includes advancing public policy issues through a variety of communications disciplines, including reputation management, issues and crisis management, community and stakeholder relations, digital and media relations, issue advocacy, government relations and regulatory affairs. Michael leads NATIONAL’s energy practice group in British Columbia, advising senior decision makers in the province’s renewable energy and clean technology sectors.

 David Mann


Vice-President, Calgary

Dave joined National Equicom after a successful 30+ year career with Talisman Energy, where he led Global Communications. His experience includes internal and external communications, and executive speech writing. He has extensive experience with both NGO and shareholder activism. Dave was also Vice-President, Investor Relations when Talisman listed on the NYSE (significantly growing its US shareholder base) and conducted a dozen major M&A deals. He has an MBA (Finance), B.Comm (Economics) and Canadian Securities Institute diploma, is a CIRI member and has served as President of the Alberta Chapter.

His experience covers all aspects of corporate life; from multi-billion dollar M&A, IPOs and corporate restructurings, to crisis and reputation management. Having created, grown and successfully divested a communications consultancy, he knows the importance of building trusted relationships. Matthew is a Board member of the Canada UK Chamber of Commerce and is fascinated by trans-Atlantic trade and the opportunities it brings.
