Ronald has been involved in many of the most visible business issues of the past two decades. He has helped organizations close over $100 billion in transactions; prepared executives and Boards to appear before Parliamentary and Congressional committees; steered complex files through competition, securities and telecom regulators and policy makers; and managed high-profile restructurings and crisis situations in all sectors, across Canada, the United States and around the world.
As both a senior corporate executive and trusted advisor to CEOs, Boards and executive teams, Ronald has managed large, multi-disciplinary teams in markets around the world. He has served as head of corporate and financial communications for Bell Canada, Vice President of Global Communications at Nortel, Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications for TMX Group (which operates the Toronto Stock Exchange and Montreal Exchange) and SVP & Chief Communications Officer for NYC-based software giant CA.
At NATIONAL, Ronald leads the firm’s corporate and financial practice, and helps organizations of all sizes seize opportunity and navigate new, uncharted territory. He is also General Manager of the firm’s Investor Relations and Capital Markets business, NATIONAL Equicom, where he leads a team of skilled professionals who serve public companies, help raise capital, manage IPOs and drive market valuation.

Kristen joined NATIONAL Equicom in 2006 after holding an in-house investor relations position for a US-based OTCBB-listed technology company. Over the course of her career, she has provided strategic counsel to public companies of varying size and at all stages of development. Her expertise ranges from day-to-day IR strategies to special projects like IPOs, M&A and defending hostile takeovers. Kristen has been a Business Analyst with a major Canadian bank’s e-technology department and holds an MSc from Boston University, and an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Vice President, Vancouver
Michael brings more than 18 years of experience and insight providing public affairs and strategic communications counsel to clients across various industries and practice areas, including energy, mining, forestry, trade, technology and corporate sustainability. His expertise includes advancing public policy issues through a variety of communications disciplines, including reputation management, issues and crisis management, community and stakeholder relations, digital and media relations, issue advocacy, government relations and regulatory affairs. Michael leads NATIONAL’s energy practice group in British Columbia, advising senior decision makers in the province’s renewable energy and clean technology sectors.

Since becoming an investor relations consultant in 2000, Nick has worked with TSX, TSX Venture and inter-listed businesses of varying sizes and spanning a number of sectors including oil and gas, technology, healthcare, industrial products, mining and consumer products. He has worked on a number of special situation mandates including public offerings (initial, follow-on, and secondary), acquisitions, takeovers, and proxy battles. Nick also develops and implements year-round strategic communication programs targeting professional investment audiences, retail investors and the financial media both in North America and around the world.
Practice Leader, Technology and Industrial Innovation
Marc has over 15 years of experience in financial and corporate communications, corporate finance, marketing and company management in North America, Europe and Asia. A founding member of Thomson Financial’s TMT practice, he later took on diversified in-house and consulting roles before starting his own practice in Switzerland. A passionate advocate of investor and corporate brand building, he has helped clients develop increased visibility and sustainable liquidity. Marc speaks Dutch, English, German and French, and holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering.

With 15 years of experience as a trusted strategic advisor, Jean-Sébastien leads the Montreal office’s Financial Communications and Investor Relations practice. He supports a broad range of clients in the financial services, natural resources, energy and retail sectors. His expertise includes social acceptance issues and reputation building, stakeholder and government relations, and supporting clients with key corporate and financial communications needs. A creative thinker, he helps clients achieve their most challenging goals. Jean-Sébastien completed an MBA and a graduate degree in management at HEC Montreal, and a law degree at the Université de Montréal.

Dave joined National Equicom after a successful 30+ year career with Talisman Energy, where he led Global Communications. His experience includes internal and external communications, and executive speech writing. He has extensive experience with both NGO and shareholder activism. Dave was also Vice-President, Investor Relations when Talisman listed on the NYSE (significantly growing its US shareholder base) and conducted a dozen major M&A deals. He has an MBA (Finance), B.Comm (Economics) and Canadian Securities Institute diploma, is a CIRI member and has served as President of the Alberta Chapter.
Vice President, US Operations & Practice Leader, Health and Biotech
Michael is a financial communications specialist with almost 20 years of experience in investor relations and corporate communications. He bridges the gap between companies and the investment community, developing IR strategies that help clients raise visibility in the capital markets, improve liquidity and achieve a fair market valuation. He has managed countless analyst and investor days and executed hundreds of road shows. He’s created presentations, collateral materials and websites, and written many conference call speeches. Most importantly, he’s learned what the street wants to hear – because he always asks.

Over a near 30-year career, Matthew has held senior corporate and financial communications roles, leading in-house teams in major international corporations and successful consultancies. His experience covers all aspects of corporate life; from multi-billion dollar M&A, IPOs and corporate restructurings, to crisis and reputation management. Having created, grown and successfully divested a communications consultancy, he knows the importance of building trusted relationships. Matthew is a Board member of the Canada UK Chamber of Commerce and is fascinated by trans-Atlantic trade and the opportunities it brings.

Joe provides strategic capital markets counsel to public companies at various stages of development, bringing together more than 15 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing and investor relations. He isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and fight for his clients – whether during a capital raise, marketing, a proxy battle or times of crisis. His experience, industry knowledge and relationships with the Street helps companies navigate through the capital markets and tell stories that resonate within the investment community.
Director, Strategic Design
Hugh oversees the operations of the studio and has been a member of the National Equicom team since 2003. His strong project management experience and ability to adapt to constantly changing deadlines and deliverables allow National Equicom to produce nearly 50 annual reports per year. For several years, Hugh was a judge for the CICA Corporate Reporting awards. He brings a deep understanding of all types of media to the team; his experience with print, pixels, video, animation and live events helps keep the Strategic Design team innovating and delivering.
